We’re not asking you to choose us. We’re asking you to add us to your list — and ask every company on it the same five questions.
Most homeowners in Fort Lauderdale get three quotes. They pick based on price, presentation, and gut feeling. A lot of them call us after the job is done to ask if we can fix what someone else did. We can’t always help after the fact. But we can give you a checklist that protects you before you sign anything.
Skip to see how we answer these questions ↓Below is what we’d ask if we were hiring a window company. We’re biased — but every item on this list is something you can verify on your own before you commit to anyone.
Some companies will only give you a price in person. Others hand you a written quote — but tell you it expires in 24 hours if you don’t sign. A real written quote holds for 30 days. Ask to see it before the appointment ends.
Some companies send whoever’s available that day. The crew on day one may not be the crew on day two. Ask whether the same people are assigned to your job throughout — and whether anyone from the company is on site to oversee the installation, not just drop off materials.
Most companies send sales reps to give quotes. Sales reps know the product. They don’t know the process. Ask this one and listen: can they describe what happens to the wood buck before the frame is set? How the flange is prepared? What goes behind it before it’s caulked to block? If they fumble — or say “the window is Miami-Dade rated” — that’s not an answer. That’s a redirect. The rating is on the product. The waterproofing is on whoever shows up to your house.
“Lifetime warranty” is a marketing phrase. Ask what it actually covers, who backs it — the manufacturer or the installer — and what the process is if something goes wrong three years from now. If the answer is a 1-800 number, that’s your answer.
“35% off — today only” and “BOGO deal this month” are standard plays in this market. If a company runs the same promotion every month, it’s not a promotion — it’s the baseline price. Ask them to show you the regular price the promotion is discounted from.
| The Question | Our Answer |
|---|---|
| Is the quote in writing, and does it hold? | Yes. Written quote, valid 30 days. Signed by us. |
| Same crew, supervised? | Same crew — they’ve been with us for years. Ricky supervises every job personally and does his own walkthrough before the city inspector arrives. |
| How do you waterproof the rough opening? | It depends on the job. New construction and modified openings get the full process: wood buck caulked underneath and front lip, waterproofing membrane to the block one foot out, caulk behind every flange, then frame to block. Standard retrofit gets what the opening allows: caulk behind every flange before setting, then frame to block — still more than most. We’ll tell you exactly what your job gets before we start. |
| What’s the warranty? | Written workmanship warranty on every job. Call Ricky directly if there’s ever a problem. |
| Is the promotion real? | We don’t run promotions. Our price is our price. |
That’s not a sales line. We mean it.
We turn down jobs that aren’t a good fit — jobs that are too small, jobs where the scope doesn’t match what we do well, jobs where a homeowner needs something we can’t deliver to the standard we hold ourselves to.
If we take your job, it’s because we’re confident we can do it right. That’s the only reason we take jobs.
“A Fort Lauderdale city inspector walked into one of my jobs — an 8,000 square foot mansion in Las Olas. He told me he saw the size of the house and expected a long day. Then he saw my name on the permit and said he knew it was going to be easy. That’s what our reputation means to us.”
“Best price — I called three people and he beat all the prices. Did it in the time frame he told me. Very professional, very clean.”
“They did everything they said they would do, when they said they would do it. Their cleanup process was good and their employees were kind and efficient.”
“Ricky kept me informed and updated the whole time. The process for permits with the City and HOA was fairly simple and they took care of it all. My windows turned out great with minimal mess. Love my new windows!!!”
