The Problem We Solve

One Failed Inspection Costs You Days. A Sub Who's Not Ready on Install Day Costs You Weeks.

We've built our entire operation around not being that problem. We assist with the energy calculations, confirm the rough opening specs, manage the order timing — everything on our side of the job. We coordinate around your build sequence. We show up when your shell is ready. Inspectors sign off. You move on. That's what working with us looks like on the first job. And the second. And every one after that.

“Quality is outstanding. Professional, efficient. Highly recommend Sunstorm Construction.”
— Josh Dotoli, Fort Lauderdale Luxury Real Estate Developer
What We Protect

Three Things Every Builder Needs Their Subs to Protect

01

Your Schedule

A sub who doesn't show up on time costs you days. We're built to avoid that. Same crew, coordinated around your build sequence. When we say we'll be there, we're there. New construction installs typically run 1–1.5 weeks. We'll confirm your specific window at permit issuance — before you need to schedule anything else around us.

02

Your Reputation

Developers in Las Olas can't afford a bad referral. Every job we've done is in the portfolio. Every address is real. Every client can be called.

03

Your Sanity

You shouldn't have to babysit a subcontractor. When we're on a job, we handle it. You'll hear from us when it's done — not when there's a problem.

How It Works

From Plans to Final Inspection

01

Energy Calcs & Specs

We assist with energy calculations and confirm rough opening dimensions before the order goes in. No surprises at rough-in.

02

Order Timing

We manage the order so materials arrive when your shell is ready — not months early sitting on a job site, not months late holding up your CO.

03

Install Day

We show up on time. Same crew every job. Ricky supervises every installation personally.

04

Final Inspection

Ricky walks every job before the inspector arrives. We don’t fail city inspections.

Installation Standard

Most Subs Caulk Frame to Block and Call It Done. That’s Our Last Step.

We build three independent layers of waterproofing before the standard final seal. A failure at one layer doesn’t compromise the next. We don’t get water intrusion callbacks.

01
Wood bucks caulked underneath and across the front lip — full seal before the buck is set.
02
Waterproofing membrane applied to the block — starting a foot out from the opening on the exterior face, wrapping around the edge and lipping over the top of the wood buck. Full waterproof barrier from block to buck.
03
Caulking behind every flange — continuous seal at the point of contact when the window seats on the buck.
04
Frame to block — the standard final seal. What most subs consider the only step.
Laser-leveled head heights We laser-level every opening so head heights are consistent across all windows in each room. In a high-end home, inconsistent head heights are visible. We think about that before the first window is set.
Door & slider threshold depth Before we set doors and sliders, we ask about your flooring. The finish floor thickness determines how far the door needs to be recessed to minimize the threshold. Most subs don’t ask. We ask before anything is ordered.
Egress sill height confirmation We ask about your floor material and how high you’re building up off the slab. That number affects whether your egress windows will meet sill height requirements after finish floor is installed. We verify this before anything is set — not after the inspector flags it.

We take full ownership of the window and door project on every job — so it comes out right the first time, every time.

Inspector Credentials
“This isn’t something we’d put in an ad — but it’s worth knowing. On one job, a Fort Lauderdale city inspector walked onto an 8,000 square foot mansion we were completing. He told me: when he saw the size of the house, he expected to have a long day. Then he saw my name on the permit. He said he knew right then that everything was going to be done right and he was going to have an easy day. That’s two inspectors who’ve told me something like that. City inspectors have referred friends and jobs to us directly. We’re not going to overclaim that — but if you’re thinking about what an inspector thinks of your sub’s work, that’s the kind of work we do.”
