Absolutely not! There’s a huge misconception that Solar is expensive and only for the wealthy. The truth is, if you can afford to pay your current electric bill then you can certainly afford to go Solar. In fact, with the availability of various Solar tax credits and special financing options, most clients can go Solar for about the same or less than their current electric bill.
The most significant Solar tax incentive is the 30% federal investment tax credit (ITC), which allows you to deduct up to 30% of the cost of your solar system from your taxes. To get the full 30% solar tax credit you’ll need to move fast and have your project started in 2019. The tax credit will reduce to 26% in 2020, 22% in 2021 and by 2022 it will expire for residential solar and be reduced to 10% for commercial solar. Solar rebates and incentives may vary depending on where you live.
Absolutely! Many homeowners are able to finance solar for zero down and see immediate reduced energy costs. The various components of your solar system will carry different warranties, but your system should continue to generate electricity with minimal maintenance for 30 to 40 years or longer.
